Elm burl veneer and brass, fabric shade
Very good condition
€2,200
The base is a rectangular block, veneered in elm burl on all four sides and bound by polished brass rods that run in a single line from the plinth to the top plate. The square shade is covered in ecru fabric and edged in brass.
Nothing is carved: the whole composition rests on the drawing of the edges and on the contrast between the irregular figure of the burl, with its knots and swirls, and the regularity of the metal. That contrast is what makes the lamp.
Original veneer and brass. The shade is the lamp's own. Wiring checked, European plug.
