Michele De Lucchi

Michele De Lucchi (Ferrara, 1951) graduated in architecture in Florence in 1975, assisted Adolfo Natalini at Superstudio, passed through Alchimia, then co-founded Memphis, with which he worked from 1981 to 1987. In 1987 he designed the Tolomeo lamp for Artemide, awarded the Compasso d’Oro two years later — one of the most widely sold desk lamps in the world.

His Memphis pieces are of an entirely different nature: colourful furniture, produced in small numbers, which does not aim for the universal. Galerie 90 brings together three of them.
