Solid elm
Very good condition
€2,800
The doors are made of vertical slats of solid elm held in a wide frame; the handles, two half-moons carved from the solid wood, meet in the centre. The case stands on four square legs that lift it clearly off the floor.
Maison Regain, based in the Hautes-Alpes, produced from the 1960s to the 1980s solid elm furniture with horizontal lines and softened edges, entrusted to French workshops rather than made in a single factory. Since Dutch elm disease wiped elm from French forests at the end of the 1970s, the body of work is closed.
Interior with one shelf and two drawers. The piece has been fully restored.
