A shell moulded in one piece, lacquered white, closing into an enveloping back and set on a conical base. Inside, buttoned cushions in black leather. The ottoman repeats the same base and the same buttoning.
Michel Cadestin, born in 1942, designed the Karaté for Airborne in the early 1970s. The manufacturer from the Landes, which was then producing Olivier Mourgue’s Djinn, here combines a moulded plastic shell with buttoned leather upholstery — two registers that French furniture of those years usually kept apart.
The set brings together the armchair and its ottoman, often separated. The leather has taken on its patina, and the wear to the seat edge can be seen in the close-up views.
It can be re-dyed by our craftsmen; quote on request.
