Saddle leather and brass
As found
€800
A disc of mirror glass ringed with brass, sheathed in saddle leather stitched with coloured thread, hung from a strap that passes through a visible buckle and runs back down the wall.
Director of the Compagnie des Arts Français from 1928 to 1959, Jacques Adnet developed from the 1950s onwards a whole vocabulary of metal sheathed in saddle-stitched leather, worked with the Hermès workshops: guéridons, lamps, magazine racks, mirrors.
The leather bears the patina of its age; the piece is sold without restoration.
